The Update 50 War Saint is the culmination of everything that makes Templar special. Built around the new Class Mastery system, this setup abandons subclassing entirely in favor of embracing the full strength of the class itself.
Build Philosophy
-establish space.
-pressure from range.
-force repositioning.
-when health bars dip into execute territory, you unleash one of the deadliest finishers in ESO now supercharged thanks to our Bright Harbinger Class Mastery passive.
Update 50 rewards players who commit to class identity, and few classes benefit from that philosophy more than Templar. The result is a build capable of thriving in small-scale PvP, outnumbered engagements, battlegrounds, and organized groups.
Gear Setup
Front Bar
Oakfather’s Retribution
Bow
- Sharpened
- Escapist’s Poison IX
Oakfather amplifies your offensive pressure and rewards aggressive uptime. Deadly Strike is also strong, but I find Oakfathers to be the better option with the amount of 1-bar builds currently in the meta.
Back Bar
Wretched Vitality
Healing Staff
- Powered
- Crushing
Wretched Vitality remains one of the strongest sustain sets ever introduced.
Combined with Templar’s natural resource tools, it becomes almost impossible to exhaust.
Monster Set
Balorgh
- Medium Shoulder
- Heavy Helm
Balorgh transforms all that added ult generation we obtain from our second class passive Bastion of Light into explosive kill pressure against even the tankiest werewolf builds (results may vary).
When Toxic Barrage makes people die very fast.
Armor Traits
A mixture of:
- Well-Fitted
- Impenetrable
- Reinforced
paired with:
Prismatic Defense glyphs
across armor.
This setup allows:
- Efficient dodge rolling,
- Reduced critical damage taken,
- Massive effective health.
Jewelry
Infused
Prismatic Recovery
The sustain package of this build borders on absurd with these glyphs - personal preference here, you can also opt for more spell damage (though genuinely not needed).
Front Bar – Pressure
Lethal Arrow
Your opener.
Applies constant ranged pressure and punishes opponents attempting to disengage or heal.
Radiant Oppression
The centerpiece.
Templars possess arguably the strongest execute in ESO which just became a whole lot more OP.
Aurora Javelin
Control / spacing tool.
Acid Spray
AoE pressure.
Excellent for groups, chokepoints, and punishing stacked targets.
Venom Arrow
Interrupt.
Ranged harassment and our source of Major Brutality / Sorcery.
Additional pressure against healers and channeling opponents.
Ultimate: Toxic Barrage
The executioner’s sentence.
Combined with Balorgh, Toxic Barrage creates devastating kill windows capable of deleting players before they can stabilize.
Back Bar – Survival
Cleansing Ritual
One of the greatest support abilities in the game. Especially strong in this heavy status effect Meta.
Vampire’s Bane
Maintains offensive uptime while enabling Templar passives, source for major savagery and prophecy.
Blessing of Restoration
Reliable healing and support. Go to burst heal, and our source for minor resolve.
Restoring Focus
Excellent regen and healing combined with Major Resolve, one our strongest tools in the entire kit.
Razor Caltrops
Area denial.
Major Breach application.
Ultimate: Life Giver
The emergency button. Powerful group sustain.
Champion Points
Warfare
- Deadly Aim
- Duelist’s Rebuff
- Fighting Finesse
- Ironclad
Fitness
- Celerity
- Fortified
- Pain’s Refuge
- Sustained by Suffering
Craft
Quality-of-life selections:
- Steed’s Blessing
