Gripping Shards is better for mobility, bosses that move around a lot & you can cast it on trash mobs to immobilize them in the wall of elements & to be affected by the frost aoe of Fulminating Rune when it ends & Deep Fissure.

This build has 33K resistances, a high chance of proccing the chilled status (with a lesser chance of proccing overcharged) & which does more damage thanks to the winter's embrace passives & sundered. All SE also do more damage with the herald of the tome passive psychic lesion, almost 50% critical chance & up to almost 110% critical damage partly due to the major & minor brittle & near to full penetration with the use of Force of Nature & Occult Overload CP.
