Build Overview
What this Build Is:
- This build is a stamina-focused Arcanist/Nightblade designed around reliability, survivability, and consistent performance across all PvE content.
- The goal of this build is to maintain strong damage while providing useful buffs and debuffs while also remaining easy and comfortable to play in solo and group content.
What this Build Is Not:
- This build was not designed to solely chase parse numbers*.
*Instead, it was designed to provide strong real in-game performance, survivability, and utility across solo content, arenas, dungeons, Infinite Archive, Night Market, and veteran trials.
Design Philosophy
This build was designed around the idea that performance in actual gameplay matters more than performance on a target dummy.
Many builds are optimized for maximum parse numbers under ideal conditions. While damage is important, this build instead focuses on maintaining strong damage while providing survivability, utility, and consistency across a wide variety of PvE content.
This Build Aims to:
- Above all, offer a comfortable playstyle that remains accessible to a wide range of players, from newer adventurers to experienced veterans.
- Remain effective in both solo and group content without requiring major changes
- Provide useful buffs and debuffs while still maintaining strong personal damage. (e.g. [Rune of the Colorless Pool Skill Arcanist Class ESO] or [Cruxweaver Armor Skill Arcanist Class ESO])
- Maintain survivability without sacrificing offense capability
- Remain effective across solo content, dungeons, trials, Infinite Archive, and Night Market without requiring multiple specialized setups.
Every ability and gear set selected in this build was chosen with the above list in mind to make a practical, all-around content PvE build.
Trial Gear/Setup Info
Regarding trial gear, Perfected Ansuul's will absolutely get the job done, but you can swap to Perfected Slivers of Null Arca if you're looking for more passive damage. In my testing, even normal Slivers of Null Arca increased my DPS by roughly 7% (~5k DPS) compared with Perfected Ansuul's.
I also swapped out Bloody Soul on the front bar for Barbed Trap. While Minor Force is redundant due to the Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet, Barbed Trap allows me to take advantage of the Fighters Guild passive Slayer, which increases Weapon and Spell Damage by 3% for each Fighters Guild ability slotted.
Bloody Soul was moved to the back bar and switched to Fiery Soul to replace Rune of the Colorless Pool. I swapped its Focus Script from Bleed Damage to Fire Damage, allowing me to shift the skill's resource cost from Stamina to Magicka for better sustain. I also replaced Breach as its Affix Script with Intellect and Endurance for additional Magicka and Stamina Recovery.
These changes are specific to the Trial Setup because Major Breach, Minor Vulnerability, and Minor Brittle are typically supplied by group support in trials. This allows Runeclaws to drop redundant group debuffs in favor of additional personal damage and sustain.
For solo and general-purpose content, I recommend keeping the original setup shown in the Daily/Solo Setup so Runeclaws can provide these effects himself.
