Welcome to the How to farm Alchemy Materials in ESO Guide! When you are new to ESO (The Elder Scrolls Online), then you may wonder where to get Alchemy materials. If you haven't played Skyrim, for example, then you may not know that all throughout the world there's Alchemy materials.
But why should you collect Alchemy materials anyway? Well, if you are a crafter or looking to become one, you will wonder where to get the stuff. Sure, you can just go to a guild store or ask other players, but you might necessarily like or enjoy that. Or you also can't afford it, because some of the Alchemy materials are extremely expensive, especially for new players.
An Alchemist gathers natural reagents found growing or lying around in the world, and mixes them with solvents at an Alchemy Table to create potions and poisons. Particularly pure water will produce a potion, while various oils or "disgusting" ingredients can be used to produce poisons. Collecting all these ingredients takes up a lot of space! So you might consider getting ESO Plus if you want to be a crafter. The Crafting Bag is basically a bottomless pit, whereas things only stack to a maximum of 200 per stack in your inventory.
If you are outside, you can look for example for mushrooms. These are called Blue Enteloma.
As soon as you have made some progress as an Alchemist, you can put points into actually making finding mushrooms or flowers a lot easier, by having them light up during your searches!
All reagents have hidden traits which determine a product's effects. Similar traits from different reagents must be stacked to bring out their magical qualities. Each trait can be countered by another trait, and if the wrong reagents are mixed together they might cancel out each other. Which is why experimenting is extremely important and you can only experiment if you have a lot of reagents to choose from!
So, as you can see, find all possible Alchemy materials is incredibly important.
For finding these materials and ingredients the only thing you need to do is venture out into the world. Flowers tend to grow everywhere where they would grow in normal life as well. Less in mountainous regions, more-so near water and rivers.
Poisons and the like you can usually find on enemies, such as Alkahest.
Different kinds of waters can also be found in either Water Skins or in pools of water!
