This is a damage dealer setup for Stamina Dragonknight. Dragonknight is a very flexible class and can viably use many different setups, this is my preference. These builds are for trials, not for the parse dummy, if you're looking for dummy builds, I recommend going to the DPS Nerds Discord Server.
- DEFAULT (Relequen/BRP Daggers/Master's Bow/Zaan/Velothi/2-Piece Crit)
Gear Flexibility: This is what is known as an arena/arena setup, or 5/2/2/2/2/1 setup. It's not that commonly used, but I think that it works very well, especially in fights where Relequen can be inconvenient to keep up on your front bar. Speaking of Relequen, it can be subbed out with Ansuul, Master's Bow can be subbed out with the Maelstrom Inferno or the Maelstrom Greatsword, etc. There are not too many good single target monster sets anymore, so if Zaan isn't working for you, consider the Runecarver build. It is fine if everything is not one to one, just to try to get as close as you can in other aspects. Food, potions, champion points, enchants, traits, and armor weight ratio should be correct no matter what.
Skill Flexibility: If you are looking for a simpler rotation and want to replace skills with bar buffers like Camo Hunter, the scribing skills, Traveling Knife and Contingency, should be the first to go. If you need, or are assigned, another skill, like Stone Giant or Igneous Weapons, I would suggest dropping the Master's Bow for the Maelstrom Inferno, thus removing your need for Poison Injection. I have left Contingency's Affix empty, but you are unable to wear Velothi, scribe it to have Minor Force, or replace it with Barbed Trap. If using Barbed Trap, make sure to put it on your front bar, so move Flames of Oblivion or Venom Claw to your back bar.
Rotation: Just keep your DOTs up and whip. For certain DOTs, like Venom Claw and Flames of Oblivion, it is important that you let them complete their full duration, so try not to refresh early. Your Berserker skill (Elemental Blockade, Stampede, Endless Hail), should take priority over your other DOTs. Traveling Knife can be used as a flex AOE spammable if there suddenly becomes more than one priority target.
- RUNECARVER (Relequen/Runecarver/Master's Bow/1-Piece Slimecraw/Velothi)
Gear Flexibility: If you struggle with Relequen front bar, feel free to swap it out for Ansuul. Putting either Runecarver or Ansuul on your front bar results in about a 2% DPS loss, so it really doesn't matter which 5-piece you decide to keep active. Subbing out Runecarver with something like Pillar of Nirn, Aegis Caller, or Whorl of the Depths would also result in acceptable damage. You may find that replacing the Master's Bow with the Maelstrom Inferno is more comfortable in a lot of content.
If you wish to use Rapid Strikes as your spammable instead of Molten Whip, keep Molten Whip on your bars for the Seething Fury passive.
If you decide to use Rapid Strikes as your spammable, remember that you lose damage if you barswap off of it. To avoid this, swap bars off of similarly timed skills (ex: Flames of Oblivion and Stampede, Venom Claw and Engulfing), or slot Burning Talons and barswap off of that. Traveling Knife or Burning Talons can be used as a flex AOE spammable if there suddenly becomes more than one priority target.
- BOW/BOW (Relequen/Master's Bow/Maelstrom Bow/Zaan/Velothi/2-Piece Crit)
Gear Flexibility: This setup is what is known as an arena/arena setup, or 5/2/2/2/2/1 setup. Relequen can subbed out with Ansuul. If you would rather do a more standard setup with two 5-pieces, something like Highland/Relequen or Relequen/Pillar with Master's Bow back bar and either Zaan or Velothi/1-Piece Slimecraw would also be okay. It is fine if everything is not one to one, just to try to get as close as you can in other aspects. Food, potions, champion points, enchants, traits, and armor weight ratio should be correct no matter what.
Skill Flexibility: Contingency can be replaced with Scalding Rune. If using a setup with two 5-pieces and Master's Bow on back bar, move Poison Injection to your back bar and Eruption to your front bar.
Rotation: Keep up your DOTs and spam Lethal Arrow. Lethal can be annoying to barswap off of, so swap bars off of similarly timed skills (ex: Flames of Oblivion and Endless Hail, Venom Claw and Engulfing). This isn't always possible though, so practice and get the timing of barswapping off Lethal Arrow when needed.
- TRASH (Briarheart/Sul-Xan/Maelstrom Inferno/1-Piece Slimecraw/Velothi)
Gear Flexibility: There are a few solid AOE burst sets if you want to replace Briarheart, but I would not recommend altering any other part of the gear setup. It is fine if everything is not one to one, just to try to get as close as you can in other aspects. Food, potions, champion points, enchants, traits, and armor weight ratio should be correct no matter what.
Skill Flexibility: Burning Talons can be replaced with Deep Breath for similar damage. In some longer trash pulls, Anti-Calvary Caltrops may perform better than Proximity Detonation, and Standard of Might may perform better than Elemental Rage.
Rotation: Before combat, prebuff with Deadly Cloak, Flames of Oblivion, and Proximity Detonation. If you have enough Ultimate, drop your Elemental Rage; then cast Elemental Blockade, Eruption and barswap. After that, hit everything with Burning Talons, Engulfing Flames, and spam Whirling Blades.
