In this part of the Inventory Guide we are going to take a look at the basic mechanics behind inventory and bank character space.
The Start
A new character will have an inventory space of 60, whereas a maxed out character can have up to 200 inventory space. Same for the bank, at the start you have 60 inventory space, once you max it out it will go up to 240 and with the ESO Plus subscription even up to 480!
Character Inventory Space
Each character that you create in the Elder Scrolls Online will have an inventory space of 60. You can increase the characters inventory space via buying Pack Merchant upgrades up to 140. In addition, you can even get up to 200 character inventory space by also increasing your mounts carry weight up to 60.

Mount Upgrade
Like mentioned above, you can buy upgrade for your mount at any stablemaster in towns. Each point in carry capacity will increase your characters inventory space permanently by 1. You can only upgrade one of the thee mount perks every 20 hours. Yes, this is a very long process!

Bank Inventory Space
You are going to start out with a bank space of 60. You can increase the bank space in Elder Scrolls Online up to 240 by paying gold for it. The cost of each upgrade will increase the more space that you buy. If you have the ESO Plus subscription, your bank space can be doubled, so instead of 240, you get 480!

Conclusion Inventory Basics
There is plenty of options to increase your inventory space both for your character and your bank but it will cost you gold. However, a nice trick that always works if you like to have several characters, always buy the first few character pack merchant upgrades as soon as possible. The first upgrades are cheap so it won't even cost you a lot but you will have a much better time managing your inventory!
