What is Jewelry Crafting?

Cette page n'a pas été traduite en Français pour le moment, nous faisons de notre mieux pour y remédier

The main goal of Jewelry Crafting in The Elder Scrolls Online is to craft rings and necklaces. For that you need jewelry crafting specific materials that you can farm in the open world.

Note: You need the Summerset DLC to access jewelry crafting stations.

What does a Jewelry Crafter do?
A jewelry crafter mines, and works with, precious metals to craft rings and necklaces. They use these materials at jewelry crafting stations, found in cities all over Tamriel. There, they can refine the precious metal dust they gather from seams, improve the quality of items, research new traits, and deconstruct the jewelry they have found in their adventures.

Jewelry crafting is only available to players who have Summerset, anyone is able to gather materials, but people without Summerset cannot use jewelry crafting stations to refine, craft, improve, or deconstruct.

How do I recognize Jewelry Materials?

Here you can see a character picking up a Platinum Seam which had 3 Platinum Dust and a Ochre in it. Platinum Dust is used to create Champion Points 150-160 jewelry.

Refine Material Process

By refining raw dust material you get refined ounces that you can use to craft items with. Here we refined Platinum Dust into Platinum Ounce that we can use to craft Champion points level 150 & 160 gear.

The following jewelry materials currently exist:

Level MaterialJewelry Material
1 - 25Pewter
26 - 50Copper
Champion Points 10 - 60Silver
Champion Points 70 -140Electrum
Champion Points 150-160Platinum

Creation Process

The creation process works similar, in our example here we want to craft a Champion Points level 160 Platinum ring with a robust trait.

You can craft the following things at the jewelry crafting station:

  • Ring
  • Necklace

You can craft these with the following traits:

  • Arcane
  • Healthy
  • Robust
  • Protective
  • Triune
  • Infused
  • Swift
  • Harmony
  • Bloodthirsty

You can find a detailed trait list here.

Deconstruct Process

You can also deconstruct rings and necklaces via the Deconstruct Tab. You can multi select items to deconstruct many at the same time. Once you deconstruct an item, you will regain some of the materials. When you deconstruct an item, make sure to have the passive Jewelry Extraction active, that will increase the amount of materials you can extract.

Improvement Process

You can also improve the quality of your ring and necklace. You always start out with the normal white quality. There are a few more:

NormalWhiteBase
FineGreenTerne Plating
SuperiorBlueIridium Plating
EpicPurpleZircon Plating
LegendaryGoldChromium Plating

Before you upgrade anything, always make sure to have points in the Jewelry Crafting passive Platings Expertise. That way you will need less platings to upgrade your gear. For example, without the passive we would need 12 legendary platings, with the passive we only need 4 legendary platings.

Grains
Jewelry Crafting has one extra step compared to all the other crafting professions. Instead of directly getting full upgrade materials, you only get grains. That means you have to farm a total of 10 grains to create 1 complete upgrade material, making it a lot more rare compared to other upgrade materials.

So lets take the picture above as an example, there I need 4 Chromium Platings to upgrade the item. To get 4 Chromium Platings I needed 40 Chromium Grains.

10 Grains = 1 Upgrade Material

Research Process

To be able to craft jewelry with certain traits, you need to research them first! The first few traits that you research won't take long. However, the further down the list you go, the longer it will take. As a new player it is especially important to research traits all the time!

Trait Research Time:
  • 1st Trait: 6 hours
  • 2nd Trait: 12 hours
  • 3rd Trait: 24 hours
  • 4th Trait: 48 hours
  • 5th Trait: 96 hours (4 days)
  • 6th Trait: 192 hours (8 days)
  • 7th Trait: 384 hours (16 days)
  • 8th Trait: 768 hours (32 days)
  • 9th Trait: 1536 hours (64 days)

Sketches Furnishings

The jewelry crafting table is also used to create certain furnishings. The tab is called "Sketches".

Crafting a furnishing functions the same as when you craft an item. You need to make sure to have the right materials, if that is the case you can craft the furnishing. In this example here we crafted a Alinor Chalice, Delicate. Once we crafted the it we can place it in our home.
