Before becoming the Vestige, Deierdra was an agent within the Great House Hlaalu. As the child of a cross-cultural union - her father a Breton knight - she learned early to accept and even welcome differences. Being Hlaalu, she also learned how to capitalize on them, building quite a career for herself.

Now, with Molag Bal defeated and Tamriel saved, she has mostly withdrawn into a quieter life of reading, teaching, and crafting. She still undertakes the occasional business trip, but leaves adventuring to others - like her dearest friend Sir Janus Clarimond, a crazy Breton nobleman, historian scholar and treasure seeker who once voyaged with Sea Elves for a year (best not to ask) to learn the ways of their weather magic.

And all the oddities Deierdra has in the appartments are souvenirs and mementoes brought by him whether it's a sconce from Elsweyr or some dug up antiquity. Recently, Sir Janus returned covered in tattoos, bearing an ugly bear bust, and spinning a tale about an absurdly epic encounter with a group of wild druids. According to him, the most unhinged among them was a half-man, half-bear creature that breathed lightning - a story more suited to a Nord saga, to be honest.

But then again, Deierdra learned long ago to accept differences and meet people as they are.
Even when they arrive with a monkey as a gift.

Now, Deierdra finds herself hosting her old friend Mirri, who insists - quite passionately - that another Oblivion Crisis is brewing along the border of Black Marsh.

Deierdra listens as she always does, but her thoughts drift elsewhere.

She finds herself wondering when that foolish Breton of hers will finally return from his endless adventures - when he will realize that the treasure he has spent years chasing across Tamriel has been here all along.

Waiting for him.
