UESP stats: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=672824
- If you want more health do so with prismatic glyphs.
- Don't fight in melee range. Your damage is the same than at max range, so there is not much reason to be in melee range. Streak/Vault though people to avoid.
- You can disengage almost any fight you want.
- Having people chase you waste their resources then engage is a good strategy.
- Space the time between dodging, streaking, and vault. Running restores Magicka, sometimes you might need to dark deal
- Actually we have decent AOE damage: Curse + Mages Wrath + Streak + Atronach + Occult Overload provides us with some serious AOE burst combos. Important is that you kill something. Killing something will damage the enemies nearby.
- Learn to dodge cancel, dodge streak, dodge vault. It greatly increases your survivability. Also you can block streak and block vault.
- Get two bows that look vastly different to distinguish between frontbar and backbar.
- Invest in a decent setup in Srendar, such that you see what is on cooldown.
- Just keep vigor up. Crit surge and Hurricane are most important for survival.
- You're somewhat vulnerable to a good timed burst combo (like nightblade, Warden). So be somewhat autistic and always move. Also combine with Streak and Vault to break other people's burst combos against you.
Do I have to wait with casting mages wrath after casting Curse?
- No, just cast it directly afterwards. It still lasts long enough. Just don't cast it before curse.
Why not: Assassination skill line:
- The daggers almost completely fill the role of the bow. Curse is one of the best backbar skills and does AOE damage. Daggers + curse > bow + crit buff.
- Curse works better on backbar, than bow. Curse allows for a combo and reveals nightblades.
- The utility provided by dark magic (crystal weapon & dark deal) out weights
- Crystal weapon is great since it is basically undodgeable and allows to turn unusable time dodging, kiting, … into damage.
- dark deal provides lot's of resources and damage buff. Our damage is high enough anyway.
- Storm calling provides insane utility (and Overload) that assassination doesn't. (We would also loose buffs)
- Mages Wrath deals slightly less damage than Impale however it can be applied beforehand and deals AOE damage.
Aren't there better sets than Torc of the last Ayleid king?
- No there aren't. It has the total stats of 4-5 sets. Even the most stat dense sets (Rallying Cry, Wretched Vitality, Saint & Seducer, … ) don't keep up.
- You don't need any procsets, for the high resistance/health targets you have overload. You can kill everything else. Since your burst is delayed (3.5 seconds) you can't time the procs with your curse anyway. If all buffs are up we are almost at 8k weapon damage (with a bow and shadow mundus!) if you go the proc set route your sustain and surviveability (weapon damage increases healing) take a huge hit.
Should I chase Major Breach?
- No. The animation of the psychic order skill is clunky compared to Crystal weapon. And Wield Soul you can only cast while actively facing in the direction of the target. Wield soul is probably your best option if you want to not play Crystal weapon. If you really need high damage you have your ultimate.
Why Crystal weapon?
- It makes time off target (i.e. the time where you are not facing in the general direction of the target) usable like no other skill.
- It deals relatively high damage for a spammable. Especially since if you space it with other skills it procs twice.
- It is basically undodgeable, if the enemy dodges the light attack it will come with the next light attack.
- It can be used with heavy attacks. Also overload.
- It passively heals you via blood magic.
- it ignores DK wings and warden shields.
- has no range limitation like Elemental weapon/Crushing weapon
- The animation is very fluid and easy to handle. By animation cancelling you can apply it on the light attack you did before casting it, since the light attack has a small travel time.
Why shadow mundus?
- After the Lover it deals the most damage in PvP. More than the Warrior. Unlike the Lover it buffs also our healing.
- Generally crit damage/healing and crit chance are nice since we have Crit Surge, Dark deal, blood Magic with can crit and have fixed values, that can't be improved by more weapon damage.
What is the basic combo?
- Apply all buffs & crystal weapon: Backbar: LA → curse → LA → mages wrath → LA → Crystal Weapon/Streak → LA → Daggers
- Basically you can use Streak or Atronach to make daggers or mages wrath land. You can cast Mages wrath later if you don't expect it to explode exactly with curse.
Player X doesn't go down after taking full combo:
- Relax, kite him. Keep vigor up, Keep up the pressure. Keep two sets of daggers. Use Crystal weapon to continue with pressure.
- You're gonna win the resource game.
Why Atronach:
- It is a ranged AOE stun, with an instant animation, and somewhat decent damage.
- You can drop it it will deal lot's of damage to a single player and block an area.
- You can move near the atronach and let it take damage from other players.
Why cutting defense?
- It somewhat reliably procs Critical Surge if you get pressured in melee range.
- Actually I'm just testing
- Our damage is mostly direct damage. Take that for 6% more damage.
- Having 10% more single target healing is nice. However Vault is AOE heal.
- Our damage is split between single target & AOE damage, hard to choose a CP point here.
What other skills are good?
- Poison Spray: The Hawk eye passive buffs it significantly. It reliably procs crit surge. and over 5 seconds it even out damages the daggers.
- Ulfsilds can give you another buff and help with AOE burst. However it will explode at the starting position of Streak. So unfortunately you can't combo it by streaking into a group.
- Temporal Guard can provide 5% damage reduction and an escape in bad situations.
Why charged?
- It offers most damage. more than sharpened. We have a decent chance to proc Burning, Sundered, Concussion, Overload. This shows up as quite some damage and buffs (+150 weapon damage, minor vulnerability, magicka restore, minor breach) in our combat metrics.
Why not offensive/defensive bar split? Why infused?
- Well, we somewhat have that. The most relevant defensive skill is on the backbar, such that when one light attacks we get the weapon damage for more healing. Overall Infused + 450 weapon damage is the best use for the backbar were we don't spend as much time on.
- Our combo is somewhat centered around Curse. Since it's on the backbar it always takes the weapon damage with to the frontbar.
Can i gank people in IC/Cyrodiil?
- Absolutely! Maybe go for higher stage of Vampirism in this case.
- For a ranged build sneak is 100% sufficient. You don't need stealth.
- That's actually the reason I keep vampirism: for sneak.
