This build is streamlined to take full advantage of Oakensoul. Our goal is constant uptime on crucial buffs and stats without needing to weave buff re-applications (and thus global cooldowns) into combat.
Strengths: burst and pressure.
- Instead of an execute, we're making use of Power Overload and Crystal Weapon, weaving this heinous combination with a Major Breach-applying Shocking Soul (which has extra damage from the Sorcerer Class Mastery script).
- For our opening move, Crystal Weapon stuns from range, as long as we're sneaking and flanking.
- Constant uptime on Minor Heroism from Oakensoul, which means nearly constant access to Power Overload.
- Excellent mobility due to Streak and Swift jewelry.
- Sneaking is full speed due to vampirism and free if running the Darloc Brae version.
- Excellent recovery thanks to the Refreshing Shadows passive from subclassing Shadow. If running the Darloc Brae version, fleeing most encounters is easy, because we can stay invisible longer, streak farther, and recuperate faster.
- Excellent penetration with Shattered Fate and 1 piece of Colovian Highlands General. It's high enough not to require The Lover mundus, doing plenty of damage to tanky targets.
- 6% of vampirism's increased ability cost is offset through the Unholy Knowledge passive from Dark Magic.
Weaknesses: we lack multiple sources of passive healing in combat.
- We have a bit of passive healing from the Blood Magic passive every time we cast Crystal Weapon, and if we are running Darloc Brae – which benefits from Minor Mending – we have a 300-and-something-per-second, non-critting tick of healing if we're crouching, but that's usually only enough to offset a weak DoT.
- Our main source of healing is either burst heals from Contingency, or the one and only HoT, Resolving Vigor.
- The former is recommended if running the Darloc Brae version, the latter if Wretched Vitality.
- We're opting for extra penetration (Colovian Highlands) instead of health (Trainee chestpiece) with our leftover armor slot and making heavy use of roll dodge and invisibility to survive, since we don't have any additional crit resistance.
- Fortunately, with 6 or 7 pieces of well-fitted armor, a few stamina enchantments, Bewitched Sugar Skulls, and the Dynamic passive from being a Dark Elf, we end up with enough stamina to pull this off (provided we stay vigilant).
In the Darloc Brae version, we lean into the health recovery gimmick of the set in place of a HoT, and use the Warrior's Opportunity script on Contigency to make up for not having the Wretched Vitality version's extra spell damage.
